hello fall!

i think fall might be my favorite season.  i love the weather and the clothes and the food and the smells and the activities and just everything!

today i went to the pumpkin patch with some of my friends, and i decided to have a little fun with my outfit! my mom bought me the sweater vest at a local thrift store, and honestly at first i didn't like it, but after giving it another chance i realized that  i love it! the little apple button detailing is so precious and almost unexpected.

this purse is probably my favorite thing that i own! it is so cute, goes with almost everything, and is vintage which is always a plus.

my sweet friend bought me this headband and necklace as a surprise.  i had a really hard week last week and she gave them to me just for fun, and the hourglass is a reminder that this is just a season and it will pass.  i love having encouraging and loving friends!

i need to get better about posting on here.  school and work have gotten the best of me these past 2 months, but no more!

green with envy

it was HOT as heck here yesterday, and i really do mean HOT.

i think the only thing saving me from sitting around my house all day drinking Arnold Palmers and watching Say Yes To The Dress was the fact that I had a few meetings, and i don't think they would have appreciated seeing me in my pajamas.

since it was so hot I didn't want to get too crazy with my outfit.  i bought this vintage Seiko dress a while back, and have never really had a chance to wear it.  it was perfect for the weather yesterday, because it was super light and flowy.  I belted it to give myself some shape, and paired it with some simple sandals from target.

its been a while

my goodness, i don't know how i let 3 whole weekdays go by without posting!
for that my friends, i am sorry.

but i'm back!

i had a friend ask me to go to lunch downtown today, so i decided that since its a beautiful sunny day i would wear one of my FAVORITE skirts.  when i first saw this skirt i didn't give it a second thought because i thought it was way too clowny, but then i decided to buy it, and i'm so so happy that i did.

i didn't want to risk going overboard with this outfit since the skirt is such a statement piece, so i paired it with a simple vintage sleeveless top, pale pink heels (which i actually wore in my sisters wedding!) and one of my favorite necklaces.

My mom took me to get a manicure yesterday, and I decided to go with a french, they are my favorite!

i've worn this before...

happy friday friends!

its a gorgeous day here today so i'm off to enjoy the sunshine, but first i wanted to post on here and show you my outfit!

this outfit is definitely go-to for me when its warm outside and i can't really think of anything else to wear.  its super low-maintenance while still being fun.

i thought that the color and cut of the shirt and short(er) skirt would make the outfit more feminine with the combat boots.

forgive the awkward-ness of these photos, i wasn't really feeling getting my picture taken today...

and the award for most awkward goes to...

you guys.

today is just one of those days.

i know i know, i've committed a cardinal sin of fashion by wearing the same shirt two days in a row, but today that just needed to happen.

i had so much to do today and was swamped with a bunch of different projects, so i really just threw on whatever i could find in my closet.

unfortunately the only thing vintage about this outfit is my headscarf, but i'm gonna give myself a free pass on this one.

i wear these shoes too much

happy tuesday friends!

i would have posted yesterday, but my dear friend and i took a day to ourselves and went to the beach.
it was gorgeous weather, about 70 degrees with barely any clouds in the sky.
it was a perfect day, and i'm trying to enjoy days like that before i start school again in a few weeks.

but here i'm back today and i love love love this outfit.

it hasn't been much of a summer here in oregon, the weather has been mediocre to say the least.
we're lucky to get 3 sunny days a week!

this outfit is my answer to that.

the flannel is for the unusually cold weather.  but, so as to not forget that it is still technically summer, i paired it with a light blouse and high-rise acid wash shorts.

business casual

I love my job because i don't have to adhere to a strict set of rules when it comes to what i wear.

Today I decided to class it up a little bit, with heels, wide leg pants, and my favorite vintage blouse.

happy friday!

maxi skirt mafia

Hello!

Seeing as to how this is my first post I thought that I would explain myself a bit.

I live in the wonderful city of Portland, Oregon, and work for a vintage clothing store there as well.

Since starting work there vintage clothing has quickly become one of my major passions!

I want to use this blog as a way to show how to style vintage pieces with more modern pieces for an everyday look.  As much as I love vintage clothing, I always hated being "that girl" who was OBIVOUSLY wearing vintage, and it not looking very natural.

I've tried to incorporate this concept into my daily routine, trying to mix something vintage in everyday, even if its just something as simple as jewelry, so these are outfits that I really do wear, not things I put together to try and impress the blog world!

To start off I thought I would show you one of my absolute favorite outfits to wear during the summer...

I love this outfit, mainly because it is so easy to transition it from day to night.  I love the breezyness of the skirt, making it perfect for a hot summer day, while also being dramatic enough to wear for a night out.
